Adopt-A-Cop: Free BJJ for Law Enforcement

The Adopt-A-Cop program provides free BJJ training to all active duty law enforcement officers in Naples, Bonita Springs, Marco Island, and the surrounding area, at no cost to the officer, for as long as it takes to earn a blue belt.

BJJ gives officers the ability to control and restrain without unnecessary force — a skill set that protects both officers and the public. Mestre Deninho and the Global BJJ coaching team are proud to support local law enforcement with the same world-class instruction available to all our members.

Ground fighting is the most common scenario in a physical altercation — yet it's the area most officers are least prepared for. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the only martial art built specifically around controlling and restraining a resisting person from a dominant ground position. For law enforcement, that translates directly to the ability to take a subject to the ground, maintain control, and apply restraints — without resorting to strikes or escalating force unnecessarily.

Officers trained in BJJ are less likely to be injured on duty. They're more confident in physical encounters, which means they de-escalate more effectively. And they carry a set of real, pressure-tested skills — not theoretical self-defense that has never been tested against a resisting partner.

We serve officers from the Naples Police Department, Collier County Sheriff's Office, Marco Island Police Department, Bonita Springs area law enforcement, and all other active-duty sworn agencies across Southwest Florida. Every officer gets full access to Gi and No-Gi classes, competition team training if desired, and direct coaching from Mestre Deninho and our full instructor team.
